Stable BL: GABLS3

The GABLS3 case simulates a stably stratified nocturnal boundary layer over Cabauw, Netherlands (51.97°N, 4.93°E) during the night of 1–2 July 2006 (00–09 UTC). The reference domain is 800 m × 800 m × 800 m on a 1283 grid. Unlike GABLS1, this case includes time- and height-varying geostrophic winds, large-scale temperature and moisture advection, and a prognostic specific humidity field driven by observed 0.25 m surface temperature and humidity (Bosveld et al. 2020, Journal of the Atmospheric Sciences, 77, 3343–3362).
